Deleting Clients

In this article, we will walk through the process of deleting clients. 


Things to know:

  • The ability to delete clients is controlled by the Deleting Clients access control 
  • When a client is deleted, past appointments are retained, but future appointments are automatically canceled
  • When a client profile is deleted, any pet/family member/vehicle profiles, membership, and packages are deleted as well
  • In reports that display client data, you will be able to view historical data for a deleted client
  • Deleted client profiles can still be accessed through reports and past appointments. When you view their profile, the word Deleted will appear in parentheses beside their name.
  • Clients who registered a user account through the booking widget or mytime.com can still access it online


To delete a client:

  1. Navigate to the Clients tab
  2. Locate the client you wish to delete 
  3. Open the client's profile
  4. Click the edit icon
  5. Click the "Delete Client" link at the bottom left of the edit client modal
  6. Confirm the deletion by clicking the Delete button

Merchant created client profile ins-tore

No user account was created online by the client

The client's profile is deleted by the merchant through the UI or Partner API

The client's profile is deleted from the Clients list
Past appointments will be retained but future appointments will be automatically canceled
If you attempt to open the client's profile from the appointment modal or any report, you will be redirected the deleted profile and the word Deleted will appear in parentheses beside their name.
If the client tries to create a user account online using the email address from the deleted profile, they will be successful
The client's historical data will still be reflected in reporting

Client created a user account on the booking widget that created a client profile in-store

The client's profile is deleted by the merchant through the UI or Partner API

The client's profile is deleted from the Clients list
Past appointments will be retained but future appointments will be automatically canceled
If you attempt to open the client's profile from the appointment modal or any report, you will be redirected the deleted profile and the word Deleted will appear in parentheses beside their name
If the client tries to create a user account via the booking widget, they will receive an error message stating that "the email address is already in use" because the user account is still active
The client's historical data will still be reflected in reporting
