Importing Client Labels

In this article, we will walk through the steps on how to import labels for clients. 


Importing Labels

  1. Go to the Clients tab
  2. Expand the Manage Clients menu > Import Clients
  3. On the import page, click the Download template link
  4. The template will be downloaded. Open the Excel spreadsheet
  5. The template will not include the labels column so you will be required to add it. Scroll to the right of the template to view the custom columns
  6. In custom_field1, change the title to labels. In the first row below, enter the label needed
  7. Scroll back to the left of the spreadsheet and enter the client's information in the first row to match the label created
  8. Download the spreadsheet:
    • At the top left-hand corner, click File
    • Hover over download
    • Click Comma Separated Values (.csv)
  9. The spreadsheet will be downloaded. Go back to the import page, click the Upload button
  10. Choose the spreadsheet that was downloaded in Step 8 from your files
  11. Click the Import button

The client will be created and includes the label that was created


Importing Labels for Existing Clients

  1. Go to the Clients tab
  2. Expand the Manage Clients menu > Export Clients
  3. The exported list will be downloaded. Open the Excel spreadsheet 
  4. Locate the client you wish to add a label for then scroll to the right to locate the labels column
  5. In the labels column, type the name of the label you want to add
  6. Once all labels are added, download the Excel spreadsheet 
  7. Go back to Clients
  8. Expand the Manage Clients menu > Import Clients
  9. Upload your Excel spreadsheet by clicking the Upload button
  10. Choose the downloaded Excel spreadsheet with the client list from Step 6
  11. The selected file will be displayed on the page. Click Import

The client(s) will be updated and the labels will be shown next to the clients in the label column or on the client's profile, when opened
