At MyTime, the "Start Service" button on the appointment modal allows you to update the start time to the actual time the appointment commenced, rather than the originally scheduled time. This article will walk you through the steps to set up your account to display the "Start Service" button on the appointment modal.
Things to know:
- The ability to add the "Start Service" button to the appointment modal is controlled by the "Show Appointment Start Button" setting.
- Clicking the "Start Service" button will not only update the appointment's start time but will also adjust the end time according to the appointment's duration.
Configuration of the Start Service Button on the Appointment Modal
Log into your account:
- Navigate to Business Setup > Settings
- In the company settings, scroll to the Calendar section
- Toggle the "Show Appointment Start Button" setting to "Yes"
- At the bottom of the settings page, click "Save"
Utilization of Start Service Button on Appointment Modal
From your account:
- Navigate to the Schedule
- Filter to the desired location and staff
- Locate and select the appointment you wish to start
- Click on the "Start Service" button

The following will take place:
The appointment start time will be updated to the current time when you click the "Start Service" button. For example, if a service was booked for 11:00 a.m. and the client arrives at 12:48 p.m., clicking the "Start Service" button at 12:48 p.m. will change the start time of the appointment on the appointment modal to 12:48 p.m. The end time of the appointment will also be adjusted based on the service duration.
The time the "Start Service" button was pressed will be reflected in the audit trail on the appointment modal and the Appointments report.
