Adding/Editing Pet Breeds

Modified on Wed, 19 Feb at 10:40 AM

The ability to add or edit pet breeds allows you to customize the list of breeds your business supports. This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to modify the pet breed list to fit your needs.

Things to know:

  • The "Manage Client Setup" access control setting determines whether you can customize pet custom fields.
  • Pet breeds are managed using pet custom fields.
  • For pet businesses, the "Pet Breed" custom field is automatically included in your account. When adding a pet—both in-store and online—the breed list will be displayed. You can modify this list by adding new breeds or editing existing ones.
  • If your business operates as a franchise that shares clients, pet breed modifications can only be made at the parent level.
  • If the Pet Breed field is set to "Required", it must be completed whenever included in an intake form. This ensures all necessary data is captured before proceeding.
  • If the Pet Breed field is set to "Read Only", neither staff nor clients can add or modify breeds when interacting with the field in-store, online, or through intake forms. To enable this setting, please contact our Support Team at support@mytime.com
