The membership configuration possibilities range from credits for products, services, and classes to value credits that can be spent at your business to discounts on specified items. In this article, we will look at the process of setting up your memberships.
Things to know:
- In order to sell memberships, you must have a membership subscription. For franchise businesses, please contact your account manager or support@mytime.com.
- The ability to create memberships is governed by the "Memberships" access control setting.
- For franchise businesses, the memberships can be created at the global (parent) level or the franchisee (child) level.
- When configuring memberhips for family accounts:
- Individual Family Member: The membership is limited to the selected family member at the time of purchase
- All Family Members: The membership can be used by the main client or any family member
- When configuring memberships for pet accounts:
- Individual Pet: The membership is limited to the selected pet at the time of purchase
- All Pets: The membership can be used by the main client or any pet on the client profile
- By default, membership credits expire one year after issuance.
- For indefinite memberships, a custom expiration period can be set in the membership template or on the client
- By default, membership credits do not apply to items with a $0 value. However, if the “Should generate bundle purchase usage for items with price $0” hidden setting is enabled, the item credit will be applied.
- Memberships can be established following these guidelines:
Membership Item Credit: Members receive a specific number of services, classes, or products for free each week, bi-weekly, or month, with the option to roll over unused credits.
Membership Value Credit: Members are allocated a certain amount to spend each week, bi-weekly, or month, with the option to roll over unused credits.
Discounts: Members enjoy percentage or dollar discounts on services, products, and classes as part of their membership benefits.
- Membership prices can differ by location or location group
- Clients can receive membership credits upfront, monthly, weekly, or bi-weekly
- Staff Commissions:
- Membership Discounts: Staff commission can be calculated based on either the pre-discount or post-discount value. This depends on how the "Calculate Staff Commissions" setting is configured on the Membership Discount tab.
- Membership Item Credits: Staff commission can be calculated using either the internal price defined on the Membership Credit tab or the regular retail price of the service, class, or product.
- Learn more about how commissions are calculated for appointments, classes, and products covered by memberships here.
- Memberships can be at the pet/family member level or the client level
- Once the membership configuration is saved, you cannot edit the contract period or the billing frequency
- A membership is considered “used” once a ticket is saved or closed, the appointment or class is completed, or the scheduled appointment or class time has passed
- If a membership is deleted, you cannot create a new membership using the same name as the deleted membership.
