Compensation on Gift Card Sales

Service providers and support staff members can earn commissions on gift card sales. This article provides information on how commissions are earned from gift card sales.


Things to Know:

Commission on gift card sales can be based on either a flat amount or a percentage:

  • Flat Amount: A fixed amount paid for each gift card sale.
  • Percentage: A set percentage paid for each gift card sale.

Setup Commission for Gift Cards

To setup commission for gift cards:

  1. Navigate to Business Setup > Staff & Availability
  2. Click on a staff member to open their profile
  3. Scroll to the Compensation Reporting section. Check “Track compensation for this staff member
  4. Under the Gift Card Commissions section, set the flat amount or percentage value                                                       
  5. Save your changes


Assign Staff for Gift Card Sales in POS

To assign a staff member for gift card sales in POS:

  1. Navigate to POS > New Ticket
  2. Add a client 
  3. Select the Products tab on the right
  4. Click the Gift Card option and add the desired information to the gift card modal
  5. On the ticket, choose the staff member who should receive the commission for the gift card sale from the "Sold By" dropdown menu
  6. Take payment and close the ticket


The commission for the gift card sale will be paid to the staff member who was assigned (if the commission was configured for that staff member).


Example:


Gift Card Commission: Percentage 

Setup:

Staff Member: Laura Green

Commission Value: 5%

Gift Card Value: $120


The total commission for this gift card sale is $6 ($120 x 5%)


Gift Card Commission: Flat Amount

Setup:

Staff Member: Jone Black

Commission Value: $15

Gift Card Value: $100


The total commission for this gift card sale is $15
