Exporting child records simplifies tasks like record-keeping and data analysis. This article outlines the process for exporting information from our platform.
Things to Know:
- The "Allow Access to Client Configuration & Import/Export Tool" setting determines whether a user can export child records.
- Export Children – Exports all child records, including pets, family members, and vehicles (if applicable).
- Export Filtered Children – Exports child records based on the locations selected in the location filter. This option is unavailable for accounts without a configured child type.
To export children:
1. Navigate to the Clients tab
2. Select the Manage Clients drop-down menu > Click the "Export Children / Export Filtered Children" option
3. A CSV file will be downloaded and saved to your device
This export will include the following data:
Column | Description |
child_id | This is the ID of the pet/family member you have in your local database (needed for appointments, for future updates, etc). If you don't have a child_id you need to generate one. |
client_id | This is the client's external ID. If your clients don't have a client_id, this will be blank |
deleted | This column determines if the child should be deleted or not. "FALSE" to not delete the child or "TRUE" to delete the child |
mytime_child_id | The internal MyTime ID of the child. MyTime provides this field for existing children. |
mytime_client_id | The MyTime unique ID for the client |
date_of_birth | Birthdate of the child |
first_name | The first name of the child |
gender | The gender of the child |
last_name | The last name of the child |
