Exporting Children

Exporting child records simplifies tasks like record-keeping and data analysis. This article outlines the process for exporting information from our platform.


Things to Know:

  • The "Allow Access to Client Configuration & Import/Export Tool" setting determines whether a user can export child records.
  • Export Children – Exports all child records, including pets, family members, and vehicles (if applicable).
  • Export Filtered Children – Exports child records based on the locations selected in the location filter. This option is unavailable for accounts without a configured child type.


To export children:


1. Navigate to the Clients tab

2. Select the Manage Clients drop-down menu > Click the "Export Children / Export Filtered Children" option

3. A CSV file will be downloaded and saved to your device

  

This export will include the following data: 

Column
Description
child_id

This is the ID of the pet/family member you have in your local database (needed for appointments, for future updates, etc). If you don't have a child_id you need to generate one.

client_id

This is the client's external ID. If your clients don't have a client_id, this will be blank

deletedThis column determines if the child should be deleted or not. "FALSE" to not delete the child or "TRUE" to delete the child
mytime_child_id

The internal MyTime ID of the child. MyTime provides this field for existing children.

mytime_client_id
The MyTime unique ID for the client
date_of_birth
Birthdate of the child
first_name
The first name of the child
gender
The gender of the child
last_name
The last name of the child
