When a membership is redeemed to cover an appointment, class, or product, the commission can be calculated based on either the regular retail price of the service, class, or product or the internal price specified in the membership template. This article will explore examples of both calculation methods.

Staff Commission Calculated on Regular Retail Price
Staff commissions can be calculated based on the retail price of the service, class, or product
Membership Name: Full Spa Membership
Product: Tree Hut Scrub
Product price in inventory: $40
Service: Men's Cut
Service price on service menu: $50
Class: Yoga
Class price on class menu: $150
Staff: Sam
Commission Structure on Staff Profile:
20 % commission on services
10 % commission on products
- 15% commission on classes
Based on the settings above, when a client books an appointment or class or purchases a product that is covered by the Full Spa Membership, the employee will receive the following commission:
- Service commission - $110 x 20% = $22
- Product commission - $40 x 10 % = $4
- Class commission - $150 x 15% = $22.50
Staff Commission Calculated on Internal Price
Staff commissions can be calculated using the internal price specified in the membership template.
To configure the internal price:
- From the membership template, navigate to the Membership Credits tab
- Click +Add Item Credits
- Configure your item credit, then select the "Price for Staff Commissions" hyperlink
- A modal will appear allowing you to select the specific service, class, product, or all items, depending on how your item credit is configured. You can also designate the staff member(s) for whom the internal price will apply, set the internal price, and choose the locations where this pricing will be applicable.
- Save changes
- Publish membership
Example:
Membership Name: Essential Membership
Internal price for services: $70
Internal price for classes: $100
Internal price for products: $60
