Client Source

MyTime enables you to specify a client's source when creating their profile through the Clients tab, Schedule, or POS. This information is automatically saved in the client’s profile details. This article offers a step-by-step guide on how to add client sources to profiles.


Things to Know: 

  • This feature is controlled by a hidden setting that can only be enabled by the MyTime team. To enable this setting, please contact support@mytime.com 
  • Client source can be configured at both the parent and child levels
  • The custom field will only be shown at the parent level
  • For franchises with global clients enabled, if the hidden setting for client source is only configured at the parent level, the only way to add a client source at the child level is by creating the client profile through the Clients tab
  • To make the client source field option available on the schedule and in POS at the child level, the setting must be enabled from the child level
  • When a new client source is added through the schedule, POS, or client profile, the option is added to the client source custom field list.
  • When a new client books an appointment online, the client source field in the client profile and appointment notes will be automatically populated based on the booking source
  • If a lead is converted to a client, the client source will match the lead source. This means that the origin of the lead profile, indicating where it was initially created, will be reflected as the client source.

Customizing Client Source Custom Field

Once the setting is enabled from the parent level:

1. Go to Clients > Manage Clients > Customize Client Fields

2. From the 'Custom Client Fields' section, select 'Client Source'

3. Once expanded, you can customize this custom field and add sources by clicking on the 'Add New Option' hyperlink 

4. Enter the name of the source option and select 'Save'


Adding Client Source From Client Profile

To add client source from client profile:
1. Go to Clients
2. Select "+Add Client"
3. Enter client details in the respective fields
4. In the 'Type Client Source' field, you can select a source from the list or type a new one and press Enter to add it
5. Save 
6. Once saved, the client source will be displayed on the client's profile in the 'Details' section


Adding Client Source from the Schedule

Once the setting is enabled at the child level:

1. Go to the Schedule

2. Filter by the desired date, staff, and location

3. Click on an open time slot of a service provider OR select the + New Appointment button from the sidebar

4. From the appointment modal, select the 'Add Client' icon

5. Enter the client details to the appropriate fields

6. In the 'Type Client Source' field, you can select a source from the list or type a new one and press Enter to add it

7. Add the desired staff member and service 
8. Save appointment
9. The client source added will be visible on the client profile in the 'Details' section


Adding Client Source from POS

To add a client source from POS:
1. Go to POS > New Ticket
2. Select the 'Add a Client' icon
3. From the 'Add a New Client' modal, enter the client's first name, last name, phone number, and email in the appropriate fields
4. In the 'Type Client Source' field, you can select a source from the list or type a new one and press Enter to add it
5. Save 
6. Once saved, the client source will be displayed on the client's profile in the 'Details' section
