resource is any item necessary for a service that must be booked in conjunction with that service. For example, a room is a resource if a service requires a room. Effectively managing these resources is essential for ensuring optimal service delivery and operational efficiency in any business. In this article, we will walk through the various ways to manage your resources. 


Things to know:

You can rearrange your resources by clicking and dragging the three dashes to the left of each resource. The specified order will be reflected in the resource filter on the schedule and service menu when assigning resources to services.

Editing Resources

To edit a resource:

  1. Navigate to Business Setup > Staff & Availability page
  2. Select the Manage Resources button                                                                                                                                                
  3. Filter to the desired location > Select the "+Add New Resource" link
  4. Select 'Edit' next to the resource you wish to edit
  5. On the resource modal, you can edit:
    • Location: The location where this resource will be available
    • Resource Name: The name of the resource. This resource name will only be visible to you and your staff members, not to clients
    • Availability: Click the time visible to change the bookable time or the "Add hours" link to add additional bookable time.
      • For single-day appointments, the selected hours should align with the availability of services associated with this resource.
      • For multi-day services, such as 24-hour boarding services, the bookable hours should be set from 12:00 am to 12:00 am to align with the service's availability associated with the resource. 
    • Bookings Per Time Slot: Add or edit the capacity of the resource: the number of appointments the resource can accommodate within a single time period.
  6. Save changes

Duplicating Resources


To duplicate resources:

  1. Navigate to Business Setup > Staff & Availability page
  2. Select the Manage Resources button                                                                                                                                                    
  3. Filter to the desired location 
  4. Click 'Duplicate' next to the resources you wish to copy or clone
  5. On the resource modal, all information from the main resources will be copied to the duplicated one. However, the resource name will have the added "- Copy" attached
  6. Make changes to the location, resource name, availability, or the booking per time slot
  7. Save changes


Deleting Resources

To delete a resource, you can: 

  1. Navigate to Business Setup > Staff & Availability page
  2. Select the Manage Resources button                                                                                                                                                         
  3. Filter to the desired location 
  4. Select 'Edit' next to the resource you wish to delete
  5. On the resource modal, click the "Delete Resource" at the bottom left-hand corner
  6. Confirm by typing delete                                                                                                                                                                    
  7. Click the "Delete" button
