The service price multiplier is a dynamic pricing feature that calculates the cost of an appointment based on the factors you input in the appointment modal. Services can be booked in units, and the total price will be auto-calculated based on the multiplier specified and the base price of the service. In this article, we will discuss configuring and using the service price multiplier.
Things to Know:
- The ability to enable and configure the service price multiplier feature is governed by the "Accessing Account Settings" and "Accessing Service Menu" access control settings.
- This feature works with any service duration, from a few minutes to a full-day service.
- Services that do not have the multiplier enabled in the service settings will not display the multiplier option on the Schedule or POS.`
- The multiplier field, service price, and overall price fields are all editable. Any adjustment to the multiplier, service price, or overall price will automatically trigger a recalculation of the total price.
- Other changes to the appointment that trigger a price recalculation will reset the multiplier to 1 and the service price to the original base price. For example, changing the client, pet/family member/vehicle, or using the Book Again option will reset these values.
- During appointment creation or editing, if the service is changed from one multiplier-enabled service to another, the system will preserve the entered multiplier value.
- Membership or package item credits are deducted based on the multiplier value. For example, if the multiplier is 8 but the client only has 5 active membership/package credits, the membership or package will cover five services, and the remaining three services must be paid out of pocket.
- If both a core service and an add-on are eligible for membership or package item credits, the credit will automatically be applied to the add-on service first. The ticket will also display the remaining amount not covered.
- Printed receipts will show both the amount covered by the membership/package and the amount paid out of pocket.
- If an appointment is marked as a redo, the price for the redo appointment will automatically be $0.
