Adding Gift Cards Manually on Client Profile

An advantage of adding a gift card to the client’s profile is that it will automatically be displayed as a payment method to choose from when taking payment for an item the client purchased. In this article, we will look at the steps of adding a gift card to a client's profile. 


Things to know:

  • When adding a gift card from the client profile, you can set an expiration date, controlled by the "Enable Gift Card Expiration" setting. Learn more here.
  • You can customize the gift card number, or leave the field blank for the system to generate one automatically.
  • To track gift card usage, click the "Audit Trail" hyperlink in the client profile. Learn more here.


Adding a Gift Card from the Client's Profile

To add a gift card from the client's profile, simply:

  1. Navigate to the Clients tab
  2. Open the client profile
  3. Scroll down to the Gift Cards section  
  4. Click on the Add Gift Card link or the + icon on the right Screenshot 2024-09-20 132020.jpg
  5. A modal will open where you can select a location, add a gift card number and the amount. If you’d like, you can process payment for the gift card by using the Take Payment button. Doing that will redirect you to POS to process the payment and close the ticket.                                                                                                                                                                                
  6. Once you have entered the amount and selected a location, click on the Add button.
