This article provides step-by-step instructions for importing gift cards in bulk through the Clients tab in MyTime.
Things to know:
- The ability to import gift cards is governed by the "Manage Client Setup" access control setting.
- Importing client gift cards allows you to add multiple cards at once.
- Each row in the import file must contain one of the following combinations to be processed successfully:
- Gift card code, amount, MyTime client ID (or client ID), MyTime location ID (or location ID)
- Gift card code, amount, MyTime location ID (or location ID), recipient email, recipient first name, recipient last name
- MyTime can import up to 1,000 gift cards at once.

Importing Gift Cards
To import gift cards:
- Navigate to the Clients tab and select Manage Clients
- From the drop-down menu, choose Import Client Gift Cards
- You will be redirected to the Import Gift Cards page
- Download the spreadsheet template
- Enter your gift card information into the spreadsheet
- Upload the completed spreadsheet
- Click the Upload button
- Once uploaded, your gift cards will be added to the corresponding client profiles.
Column Descriptions
Column | Description |
code | Required. The unique code identifying the gift card. |
amount | This field is required. This is the current value of the gift card, not the initial amount. |
mytime_client_id | The internal MyTime ID for an existing client (provided by MyTime). |
mytime_location_id | The internal MyTime ID for the location (provided by MyTime). |
client_id | The external unique ID for the client. If you don't have a client_id, you need to generate one. You can use a number sequence that is easy to remember. |
locations_id | The external location ID (from your locations.csv file) where the gift card was purchased. |
recipient_email | The email address of the gift card recipient. |
recipient_first_name | The first name or initial of the gift card recipient. |
recipient_last_name | The last name or initial of the gift card recipient. |
sender_name | The full name of the person who sent the gift card. |
