Editing Gift Cards in the Client Profile

Modified on Tue, 14 Jan at 7:41 AM

Once a gift card is purchased, whether it is assigned to a recipient or not, the value can be changed on the client's profile. The gift card audit trail will indicate any changes made to a gift card's balance. In this article, we will guide you through the process of editing a gift card and how to view any modifications made to it.

Things to know:

  • The audit trail will only show changes that occurred after March 23, 2022 (the date this feature was launched)
  • Any changes to a client's gift card balance made before March 23, 2022, will result in the message "Currently there is no audit trail data" being displayed in the audit trail.
  • The gift card audit trail will not appear on the client account on the parent level
  • You can modify the value of a gift card, adjusting it to a higher or lower amount
  • Gift cards sold to clients without being assigned to a recipient will be visible on the purchaser's account, enabling you to edit the gift card later and assign it to a recipient. This functionality is governed by the "Display Unassigned Gift Cards On The Purchaser's Profile" setting, which can be found under Business Setup > Settings. For instance, if you sell a gift card to John through POS without adding a recipient, the gift card will be accessible on John's profile, and you can subsequently edit it to add a recipient.
