This article will guide you through the steps to add funds to an existing gift card using the POS.
Things to Know:
- Gift cards purchased after the "Enable gift card expiration" setting is enabled will display the "Expires" field when reloading the gift card in POS.
- When the "Enable gift card expiration" setting is activated, you can edit the expiration date in POS when reloading a gift card
- The ability to edit the expiration date on a gift card is controlled by the "Accessing Gift Cards" access control setting. Learn more here
To reload a gift card:
1. Navigate to POS > New Ticket
2. Select the Products tab on the right sidebar
3. Select Gift Card
The Gift Card modal will appear
4. In the "Amount to Add " field enter the dollar amount to be added to the gift card
5. Enter the existing gift card number into the "Card #" field. If you wish to verify the gift card balance before reloading it, click on the "Check Balance" link
The current balance will be shown and the recipient field will be pre-filled
6. Save
7. Add Client
8. Take Payment and proceed to close the ticket
Upon closing the ticket, a confirmation will pop up at the top of the page
The new gift card balance will be displayed in the "Gift Cards" section of the client's profile
